I get these ideas and then I just take off. Some expand into other opportunities, others I like to call as ‘trial and error’, Oops—try again, or drop the idea completely.
Any damage done? “No.”
We’re all human. Just attempting something new has either a result of success or failure…yet, without trying, how are we ever going to know?
The support of friends is priceless. They’re always here to encourage—cheer me on and forward; share similar acts of failure—kind words of sincere sympathy so I know I’m not alone; and friends are always around to help me—all I have to do is ask.
This week, I had a new vision. A vision that like most of my other ideas, have turned into an obsession. Think, think, devise a plan, then think again…blogtalkradio
Can you imagine how BIG blogtalkradio can be for an author? The show would instantly put the author in the driver’s seat for promoting themselves and their books?
With a series of hour shows, say once a week, a person just needs to host a guest and talk.
Now how difficult is it for Jo-Anne to rattle on the phone? “Not.”
Blogtalkradio is full of great programs to listen live or download to a more convenient time. Take the show with you and listen to it on your I-pod as your jogging, driving in the car, or walking the dog, or whatever…
Last night, I even devised a further promotional strategy. A technique to build my listening audience…
I thought of giving away a prize at the end of the show. All to those who connect and chat live will be eligible to win. Plus, those who phone in and talk on live-radio, will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and pitch their book.
A double win-win. I love it!
My vision has expanded to include Larry Brooks, my co-host. I’m thinking with our blended characters, I better change our viewing audience (Default Show Maturity) off ‘Everyone’ and rate it for ‘Mature’ audiences only. I’m thinking our discussions could expand in topics for adult ears only. Sizzle with energy and the odd flare of articulated expressions true to the heart. My show is not going to be boring…I can bet that. Light and fun…with valuable information.
