These days, I’ve been juggling 3 different projects:
1.) Edits – Nancy, my editor, has been very busy these past few days. Yesterday, I checked my email and discovered 5 chapters that had been fully edited. Whoopee! That makes my novel, “Conquer All Obstacles” nearly ½-way finished and ready for publishing.
I was wondering why after reading the first 2 chapters, she chose the final 5. Her response was hilarious…she just couldn’t wait to find out what happened to the main characters. Now when a reader flips to the end of a book, isn’t that cheating? Heck, she’s my editor…I’ll let it slide…lol.
Basically, the only changes were some of the terminology. Even though I live approximately 100 miles north from the United States’ boarder, apparently, there are more language differences from Canadian’s vs. States’ than I realized. - Americans say re-hab, we say dry-out. - Americans say college, we say university. - Americans say ________, and we say a middle size bottle of booze is a 26. - Americans spell ‘check’, we spell ‘cheque’. - Americans measure in standard, we measure in metric. Thank goodness for Google Search.
After reading Nancy’s edits, I was flying higher than a kite. Not only there were hardly any ‘red marks’; but also, I couldn’t believe how good the story really was. It’s been about 6 months since I’ve read “Conquer All Obstacles”. Rereading the story, it was like…WOW! Did I write that? I was totally amazed.
2.) Researching Blogtalkradio – After 2 days of getting familiar with the BTR site, I wanted to promote my first live show. I sent invitations in the form of events to my 4,000 Facebook friends, Twittered, MySpace, and created a blog post to submit to all my social media networks in the form of bulletins.
It was so good to talk on the phone to Larry Brooks , the co-host of “Authors Articulating with Jo-Anne and Larry”. He’s everything I’d hoped for.
Larry’s going to make an awesome radio partner. Having past experience as a radio announcer and some TV visibility, his credentials past my inspection. And to top it off…his vibrant personality just adds to his appearance. Energetic, confident, and totally extroverted. This show is going to be a blast. I’m so excited and can’t wait.
3.) Making changes to Premium Promotional Services – Last week, I revamped the PPS site. My partner, Brian Knight, allowed sharing administration privileges. YIPEE! Time to put a ‘woman’s touch’ onto the site…lol.
With the rapid changes in technology, I have to keep-up and ahead of the game. I created 3 new services and a ‘Summer Special Deal’ for 20% off for those whom purchase all 3 services.
Now, PPS is offering these promotional services so *You Write – We Promote* (for more information, just click on the service-titles):
Tomorrow, I’m off to the accountant. Yikes! Should be able to find out if going back 3 years to claim expenses is going to actually pay-off. By the time I pay for my Book Keeper and my Accountant, uhmmmm? This I’ll find out and pass on to you…
