This is crazy. It’s 9:45pm and I’m posting my blog.
I’m a morning person. Ask my daughters. I can hear them now (when they’d come to me wanting help with homework)…
“After supper, don’t bother asking mom anything.” (So true)
Then, why am I posting a blog at night when my brain is mush? (So I’m excited, I’d like to share, and I can’t wait for morning.)
Every now and then, I check my stats from my 3 blogs:
1.) Premium Promotional Services - *You Write – We Promote*
2.) Conquer All Obstacles - *Marketing Tips for Writers*
3.) Jo-Anne Vandermeulen - *Journey to Publication*
I’m curious to see how many hits are occurring and on which days. Discovering an increase in visitors, who’ve come to read my blog, is rewarding (yippee, I have an audience). Seeing peaks on the line graph, as a result of more traffic, can make my day.
I use Google Analytics to track my visitors. (This tool is so remarkable)
There’s a ton of information I can gather from G.A., but the one stat that really caught my eye tonight, was when I clicked on the map. Sure there were lighter colors from 11 different countries (yes, it tells me exactly which countries), but the dark green focused basically in North America. Clicking on the dark green patch, zooming-in to more specific areas—the concentrated areas were California, Texas, and Canada. I could’ve clicked on any State and the stats would have indicated the exact number coming from (more specifically) which city, but I was more interested to find out:
Where are most of my viewers located?
My newest blog (the one you’re reading now), has been in publishing mode for less than a month. I’ve had over 300 hits, and I was amazed at where the majority of my viewers were coming from…
Did I mention that the stats indicate the amount of time each viewer spends reading my blog? (The average time a viewer remains on my blog is 4 minutes. Incredible! Obviously, the viewers are actually r-e-a-d-i-n-g my posts.)
Perhaps writing this post, this late in the evening, is a big mistake. I’m running out of steam. My concentration is shot. I should just shut it down and resume in the morning. When I’m fresh. (Now that wouldn’t be fair to you, would it?)
What was it I was going to share with you? Oh, yeah…the place where my largest amount of viewers are located…
Are you ready for this? Let’s see if you’ve guessed it right…
This 25 day old blog (*Journey to Publication*) has been viewed by over 300 visitors. Each visitor stays to read for an average of 4 minutes. The viewers/followers are coming from 11 different countries, all over the world; yet, the highest number of hits are coming from… (I need a drum roll. Okay, I’m more than goofy when I’m tired)
Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada!
112 viewers from Yorkton. (Now isn’t that amazing!) My largest fan base is my local city…
Thank you for reading my blog. Thank you everyone…:).
The United States is very close to being the highest ranked follower—coming in at 137 visitors. They are sneaking up to the Canadians—coming in at 140 visitors. (Uumm… I wonder which country is going to be my largest follower, the States or Canada? Perhaps another country will take over and beat both the States and Canada?)
I’ll keep you posted…oh, and thanks for reading. (Duh, I think I already said that…goodnight, all)
Oh, and how many minutes did you spend at my site today? (No worries, I’ll just look it up…lol. But, it’ll have to wait until morning.)
