This week has been filled with a variety of ups and downs. And I mean extremes! I’ll begin with the down and continue sharing the many, many successes…
By now you’ve probably heard that Oscar (my Mini-Dacshound) tangled with yet another skunk. Thanks to my abundant friends and followers on Facebook, they solved the stinky problem and the poor dog got another bath…but, not in the usual red tomato juice that splattered all through my stark white bathroom every time he shook. This time, he was suds in Dawn soap and rinsed in Listerine. Surprisingly it worked, although Oscar doesn’t think so. He figures it’s his job to capture the varmint, but cannot understand the bathing ritual and new rules for being tethered to a tree out front. Hanging his head low, the chain tugs around his neck as he glances up to me with those ‘puppy-dog’ eyes.
Unfortunately, I have no news on my book, “Conquer All Obstacles”. I completed the edits for a tough chapter, and haven’t heard any more. I keep telling myself to be patient and everything happens in God’s time. Gosh it’s tough being human.
I spent most of my weekend sending out the exciting announcement about Misty Taggart, whom is joining our team at Premium Promotional Services. The doors just keep on opening…opportunities keep happening >Jo cheers<. If you missed this announcement, click HERE to read all about her and the new service offered at Premium Promotional Services. I still cannot believe that someone with Hollywood experience and the Founding Member to ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) would contact me and request the opportunity to join PPS. Like, how could I say no? Not!
I’m still hanging from the ceiling (Randy’s tried to pull me off…lol) from the renewed connection with Claudia Suzanne. Claudia is a Ghostwriting expert and is the only one who teaches Ghostwriting in the world. (Click on the highlighted ‘Ghostwriting’ to get the definition). To read more about Claudia, click HERE. And while you’re at her blog site, check out the article she wrote about me…now how do I stay humble?...lol.
Last week’s “Authors Articulating with Jo-Anne and Larry” on Blogtalkradio was another success. It was Larry’s turn to be interviewed on his passion “Story Architecture (Structure)” and we had quite the heated discussion about me being a Pantser (one that writes from the seat of her pants – no outline) to his convincing argument that outlining is a must. Larry Brooks is a best selling thriller author with 3 out of 4 of his books hitting the stands as first drafts. Well now, whom am I to argue with that kind of testimony. Needless to say, I settled down and listened to what he had to say. Click HERE to listen to the ½ hr. recorded podcast.
Tomorrow is my turn. On Blogtalkradio (a live show), Larry will interview me on my passion…Blogging. I cannot wait to discuss the difference between a website and a blog. I really believe this message needs to get out there so people are no longer victims to these website hosts that charge money and keep control of this person’s site. It’s time for everyone to understand that anyone (and I mean anyone) can create their own blog for FREE and have total control of the content. And this blog IS a site on the web…a form of a website. Click HERE for the details and to listen to the ½ hr recorded show, or you can tune in live (call in or join in the chat room) by clicking HERE at 11:00am (Sask. or Mtn. Time Zone).
On Wednesday until Sunday, my two daughters and I are heading North (8 hr.drive) to visit my Father and escape into the wilderness. I cannot wait…listening to the loons blend with the splashing water against the boat. We have a cabin, 12 miles away from the main-shore and civilization. The only way to get to the island is by boat in the summer and ski-doo in the winter. Dad said the fish aren’t biting right now, but really…who cares.
Thus, things will be quiet here. I will return though, and keep you up to date. Oh, and speaking about up-to-date…I checked my Google Analytics and it seems that the United States have come to visit this site more that the Canadians. That means the Americans are beating the Canadians. But, with that being said, Yorkton followers still come in first place.
