Nancy - “I’m just waiting to get the shipping price to give you a final cost. I will log the job into the system in the morning so that can happen, and if all goes well, we will put this baby to bed tomorrow.”
Tomorrow is TODAY! My book is my baby. The dream to publish is drawing closer and closer.
Ooohhweee, I’m so excited.
Nancy just sent me the book jacket folded out to expose the front, back and spine of the novel. It looks fabulous! I'll share as soon as everything is finalized.
I’m working on the final pages. Just sent the bio, acknowledgment, and an added note to include with the copy-right page. The bio page is the toughest for me. How much is too much? With the age of the Internet, wouldn’t the fans follow through my personal sites and click on the bio tabs for an extended version of ‘who I am’? Or would the fans still feel the need to read from the actual pages at the back of the book?
The better question is whether or not the bio would actually entice the viewer to purchase the book? Personally, I have never bought a book from reading an authors bio. I usually don’t read those pages until I’m finished the book. I think it’s really quite subjective and there’s not a right or wrong answer. What do you think?
Book reviews/endorsements “How do I get those great reviews for my book?”
Nancy’s Answer: “Print a few copies without the endorsements, but use the endorsements in your marketing material. Print a small number of books, 25 or so, and use the books you print initially for your close friends/supporters and BOOK REVIEWERS. Begin now compiling a list of book reviewers. Pick out the best ones and contact them to find out how they prefer receiving the books they are reviewing—either a printed book or an e-book.
After you have some good reviews from reputable book reviewers, then we can add the reviewers’ page, make the changes to the book file and submit a revised file to the printer. This will give time for any boo-boo’s to be found, feedback to be given on any weak areas, etc., and a corrected/revised file to be done. This time, you can order more copies if you want and have the perfected copy that will be available to Ingram Distribution.”
So today’s job is to round up some of these reviewers. Too bad I cannot meet them in person so I can drop to my knees and wave my clutched hands up in the air, pleading for them to read my book…lol. Since it only takes 3-5 days to have my book printed, and if “Conquer All Obstacles” goes out to the printers today or tomorrow, I could have my book in my hands next week (depending on our wonderful postal service – yes, I’m being terribly sarcastic).
Now do you see why I’m having difficulty sleeping at night???...lol.
I just received a message from Michelle Pulis. Yesterday, I posted a NEW article on my other site called: Unique Promotional Items: Drawing Attention and Creating Massive Exposure.
Michelle emailed to tell me that we just received our first purchase order. I’m ecstatic here!!!
Make sure you read this article so you can share in the excitement. Click HERE. I couldn’t believe my eyes. My heart hasn’t stopped thumping in my chest.
Over to Google Analytics. Let’s see where my largest fan base is coming from this week…
Saturday, September 12 I had the most visitors at this site out of all the days this month. Where you here this day?
Checking out to see if it’s the Canadians or Americans who visit my site the most…
Oh my...
the United States have jumped out and take a huge lead over Canada. In third place is India. Australia is next. So interesting.
Congratulations to my fans living in the United States!
