Preparation – What has been done:
“There were over 200 invitation mailed out, 4 authors will be on hand for book signings throughout the weekend, a caterer is providing refreshments, and lots of word of mouth marketing. Making a difference or impact in peoples’ lives…WHAT A FEELING!!!
Here is a TRUE short story I’d like to share with you…
February 12th, Jon Renaud contacted me. He desperately needed the shelves filled for his NEW boutique coffee/book store located in a trendy, liberal, tourist town that is visited by several million visitors every year, the shadow of Pikes Peak just outside of Manitou Springs, located just outside of Colorado Springs. His request—he needed 150 authors to ship their books to meet the deadline of May.
BUT that same day, I was sent this email from Jon:
“It appears we will be opening the doors on March 15 instead of May.”
Well I got busy…and sent out the message to my contacts and… the response was over-whelming! That same day, Jon’s email came through saying:
“My inbox is filling up already. I think the 150 spots will be filled before the end of the day!”
Instantly, his email responses filled the screen, and by the end the day, his prayers were answered as his store would be full of quality written books by authors from all over the world…and within the ‘tight’ time-frame!
Jon was thrilled!...and sent this next email:
“…I wanted you to know the effect and influence you have on authors. This offer was put out there by you and the Savvy Book Marketeer and the response was beyond what I was prepared for. If you two ever decide to take over the world, we better watch out:-)"
February 23rd, Jon sent this email:

Thanks to team work, the deadline has been met and “Back To The Books” will be opening, with full stocked shelves, on March 15th.
March 2, 2012 (email from Jon):
Good afternoon Back to the Books authors,
I just want to drop a quick note to let you know that everything is progressing on schedule and the Grand Opening is shaping up to be wonderful!
I also wanted to take a minute to thank all of you for your trust in me and pass on my compliments to all of you. You all should be very proud of your work you have done as I have some absolutely wonderful books on my shelves.
Today, three members of the Manitou Springs City Counsel stopped in to say hello and see how things were progressing. All three of them complimented on the quality of books that are already filling the selves. So please pat yourselves on the backs.
Well, I will not take up any more of your time but I just wanted to let everyone know that Back to the Books is on schedule and looking GOOD!!!!!
